Paul Tom has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1997, and has been running his own school now since 2001. In addition to his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teaching experience, he is also a certified Tactical Arrest and Control Instructor for law enforcement officers.

Paul first received his blue belt from the Rickson Gracie Association on January 25th, 1997. He started instructing children's courses in 1998, and began teaching beginner's classes for all ages shortly thereafter. He later received his purple belt on January 2nd, 2001 and it was at this time that Paul officially started teaching at his own school in Orem. On November 18th, 2002 - less than two years later - he was awarded his brown belt.

Paul soon met with Master Flavio Behring and became a Behring Jiu-Jitsu associate in the Summer of 2003. Finally, in May 2008, Paul was initiated as a black belt Behring Jiu-Jitsu professor under Flavio Behring and the World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. He currently continues to teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Orem, and is the second highest ranked Behring Jiu-Jitsu professor in the USA behind black belt, Rob Handley.

As a coach, Paul has led many combatants to success in a wide variety of local, national, and international martial arts competitions. Members of his team continue to compete in a wide variety of local and national competitions, including Utah's Ultimate Combat Experience and Grapplers Quest.
